For some time after Josh Duggar was convicted on two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography, a spotlight was shone on his life inside prison, behaviors that included a myriad of phone calls to his wife Anna Duggar, who remained by his side throughout the trial and after. As Josh awaits sentencing next month, Anna Duggar has started making some changes on her own.
First and foremost, Anna potentially worked to secure her future and that of her seven children. According to reports, Anna has been setting up LLCs in recent months and selling the house she and Josh Duggar planned to remodel before his arrest. Users on Reddit found evidence of the formation of a new LLC, also speculating that Duggar might try to have joint assets put into his own name in order to protect those assets. Although this is just speculation, Josh Duggar could face fines of up to $250,000 on each of the aforementioned counts, leaving questions about where the money came from.
One thing that has been confirmed is that at some point prior to Duggar’s arrest in April 2021, the house was put on the market and later sold for under-demand. Since then it has been reported that Anna and the children are staying in a warehouse which has been renovated for family use on the property of Jim Bob and Michelle. It is not known if this will remain a permanent residence for the large family.
Second, in recent months, Anna Duggar has started to be more visible again at events. Fans speculated that she attended Jeremiah Duggar and Anna Wissman’s wedding last month. This was based on a leaked photo on Reddit. However, whether or not that report is accurate, it’s been confirmed that Anna Duggar was at her friend Gabrielle Patton’s vow renewal ceremony last week. This was confirmed via Patton’s own Instagram Story (via Life and Style). Other members of the Duggar family, including Michelle, have also been confirmed to attend the event.
Although she has already appeared on counting on and other Duggar family projects, as well as regular social media posts, the reality star has kept a low profile since her husband’s arrest and subsequent trial. Anna Duggar posted about the birth of her child late last year, then in February she posted an encrypted message linked to a PDF of a motion that Josh’s legal team had filed in the hope for an acquittal.
Meanwhile, Josh Duggar’s sentencing was due in April. However, his legal team has actually filed several motions related to the case. Ultimately, after Duggar’s team requested an “extension,” the sentencing date was moved to May.
