Located in Indio, California, the Desert Festival has grown in popularity over the years for its glitzy Instagram-worthy dress code and main celebrity guests.
The festival leads the pack when it comes to innovative programming. Two of its hottest artists (Harry Styles and Billie Eilish) are under 30, while further down the carefully curated bill you’ll find some of the hottest new acts – Koffee, Amyl and the Sniffers, Rina Sawayama – mingling with old school staples such as Spiritualized and The Avalanches.

Megan Thee Stallion fans were somewhat confused during her Saturday set, after the singer seemed to disappear in the middle of her set.
In what was believed to be a particularly difficult costume change, the singer left and took a few minutes to return, prompting some viewers to wonder if she had “bailed out”.

Danny Elfman brings Spider-Man, Batman and the Simpsons to Coachella – review
And now it’s time for something completely different: composer Danny Elfman is by far the oldest artist to perform at Coachella this year. But based on her eclectic show on the outdoor theater stage on Saturday night (April 16), her age is the least unusual thing about her.
For starters, there may be few 68-year-old composers who would choose to perform topless in order to best show off a heavily tattooed torso. Specifically, there are few composers of any age who could make a full orchestra sound like a garage punk band, as Elfman often does throughout his hour-long set.
“Hello Coachella,” he says, shortly after playing the deranged 2021 single “Insects,” then a section of his 2002 orchestral score Spider Man. “My name is Danny Elfman, and I have a weird little show for you.” He’s not kidding.

Coachella bids raucous farewell to innovative boy band Brockhampton – review
After nearly a decade of changing boundaries and breaking rules, the most innovative boy band of the 21st century has decided to call it quits.
Taking over the huge aircraft hangar that is the Sahara stage of the Coachella music festival on Saturday April 16, the vast Texan collective Brockhampton has decided to hang up their bobs for good. Well, at least that’s what fans learned in January this year, when they revealed via social media that they would be taking an “indefinite hiatus” after Coachella, while thanking fans for their support of the over the past eight years.
However, after tonight’s hour-long spectacular, video screens reveal that they aren’t quite over yet. As the band leaves the stage, a pre-recorded clip of de facto frontman Kevin Abstract speaking to his bandmates appears. He has something to tell them, he said. The screens then go dark, leaving only the words: “Brockhampton. The ultimate album. 2022.” If the crowd hadn’t been bonkers enough during the set, it’s enough to knock them out completely.

Disclosure joined by Khalid and the marching band during a high-energy rave set
The last time Surrey-born brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence performed at Coachella in 2016, they augmented their live show with a number of high-profile guest vocalists, including Lorde (for “Magnets”), Sam Smith (for “Latch” and “Omen”) and AlunaGeorge (for “White Noise”).
By those lofty standards, tonight’s performance was relatively light on surprises — save for Khalid’s late appearance for the first-ever live performance of their 2020 collaboration “Know Your Worth.” Perhaps it’s a sign that the Lawrence brothers are now more confident in their own ability to hold Coachella audiences captive with a minimum of bells and whistles.
Now more than a decade into a career they began as miners, the duo have by this point become seasoned experts in delivering high-energy rave. The Coachella crowd is more than willing to meet them halfway through, and they’re in full force for the duo’s sunset set, a euphoric, hands-up performance. “We want to see maximum energy, maximum vibration tonight,” the brothers announce. It is fair to say that their wish is granted.
“When a Fire Starts Burning” has the entire crowd moving in unison, while phone lights flash to illuminate “Nocturnal.” Although he performed at the festival yesterday, there’s no sign of Slowthai other than in pre-recorded form hitting the big screens for the Grammy-nominated banger “My High.”
The duo close their set with the party anthem “Tondo”, joined on stage by a brass section from the marching band, but the attention never really leaves the siblings at center stage during the kind of performance. uplifting that the Coachella scene was made for.

Jackson Wang’s surprise appearance is all Twitter can talk about
While Disclosure is busy drawing one of the weekend’s biggest crowds to the outdoor theater, 88rising is doing its own equally impressive thing on the main stage at Coachella.
The first record company to have its own showcase at the festival, the collective does not take this honor lightly.
Since 2015, 88rising has been working with artists and creators across Asia, and tonight the Los Angeles-based company is bringing in the big boys and girls for an 80-minute extravaganza featuring an epic roster of names as well as a troupe of dancers and multi -layered stage.
A mini version of 88rising’s hugely successful Head in the Clouds festival, it’s the perfect potted variety show – featuring spots from Thai rapper Milli, the South Korean singer-songwriter Bibi and co-signed singer Taylor Swift, born in Jakarta, as well as Indonesian rappers Rich Brian and Warren Hue.
However, it is the unexpected appearance of Chinese superstar Jackson Wang that really makes the festival lose its collective spirit.
With his silver-blue hair and red gloves on a majestic screen, the flashy Wang smashes his way through ten minutes of Michael Jackson-inspired choreography with a skill worthy of a Las Vegas magician, leaving many fans more than happy that he arrived, but also wondering why he wasn’t on stage for at least another hour.
Fans react to Wang’s “festival-devouring” Coachella performance here.

Coachella Weather Report
Where yesterday it was too hot, today there is definitely too much wind. Dust storms surround the site, making visibility difficult for many drivers heading to the festival. On the pitch, that means bucket hats blowing everywhere, trash cans falling across fields, and lots of hairstyles becoming hair don’ts. The solution? Hold on to your hats, Coachella.
