Noughts + Crosses s2 trailer debuts as BBC One air date confirmed

Zeros + Crosses Series 2 is fast approaching and we finally have a trailer, along with information on when the show airs on BBC One.

We already knew all four episodes would drop on BBC iPlayer on tuesday 26 april. The first episode of Series 2 debuts on BBC One the same evening at 10:40 p.m., with new episodes airing weekly.

Masali Baduza and Jack Rowan return as young lovers Sephy and Callum. Following the events of the first series, they are desperate to escape Albion – but the chaos unfolding around them only adds to the difficulty it would be for them to start a new life together.

Fans who’ve read Malorie Blackman’s novels may think they know what’s to come, but she’s previously said that events in the TV series might turn out differently than they know.

“After reading the scripts, I think I can say that even those who know the Zeros + Crosses book series will find surprises, suspense and so much to savor,” she said.

Among returning cast members like Paterson Joseph and Helen Baxendale, you may have noticed loose women Star Judi Love makes an appearance in the trailer as TV presenter Chidi Abara, alongside newcomer Michael Dapaah, aka comedic rapper Big Shaq, who plays Chidi’s co-host Mensah.

“Joining the series has been an honor, especially because of the fame of Malorie Blackman’s novels and what they represent,” Dapaah said. “I enjoyed watching the first season and I’m a fan of director Koby Adom’s previous work.

“For me, it was time to get into the world of acting properly and it was a great introduction for me. I wanted to show people and myself that I can play a role that’s not so highly comedic and that I can do so much more, and I found this Mensah character really fun, which is always a bonus.”

Tic Tac Toe premieres Tuesday 26 April on BBC One and iPlayer.
