While Travis Scott didn’t make an official appearance at Coachella 2022, the controversial entertainer was definitely in his neighborhood testing the waters for his comeback.
Electronic News reported that Scott gave a surprise performance at the Revolve x Bootsy Bellows After Party at Coachella, just six months after the Astroworld Festival tragedy in Houston. The “Sick Mode” artist appeared in La Quinta, Calif., behind the DJ booth with DJ Chase B, playing some of his biggest hits. The crowd in attendance appeared “super excited” to see him return to the stage, according to onlookers.
Travis Scott was rumored to be joining Coachella 2020 as a headliner, but his status was revoked following the 2021 Astroworld tragedy that left 10 people dead and scores injured. Coachella 2022 then brought in Kanye West, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles as headliners. Ye then stepped back and was replaced by The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia. It was also previously rumored that Ye would bring out Travis Scott in his headlining performance.
In recent weeks, Scott’s promotional panels for his latest album Utopia, have been observed on highways in California. Her performance after the party was her first since Astroworld.
